BT Sets Date To Switch Off PSTN (Analogue Line) And ISDN (Digital Line) By 2025
Existing Customers will need to migrate to an IP network by 2025, as BT will start to phase out the PSTN and ISDN networks from 2020.
PSTN: This is a traditional analogue line where you can have voice and data flowing over a copper line.
ISDN: Is a Digital line most commonly used with business who need two or more lines.
When is the big switch off?
BT Group CEO Gavin Patterson has set a date of 2025 to switch off ISDN services from its Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). BT Group are set to no longer accept any new orders or amendments to services pertaining to any ISDN product as of 2020 with the final termination set for 2025.
